The Furman Paladins Softball team (2-6, 0-0 SoCon) face off in a double header with Canisius Golden Griffins (1-4, 0-0 MAA) here at Pepsi stadium. Both teams came in today’s game needing a win to jump start the start the season, Furman badly wanting to get a winning streak started.

The Paladins come out to start the game with some mental errors which would cost them in the long run. Canisius gets on the board first getting two runs on a few errors by the Paladins. The Paladins do get back in the game scoring two runs and tying it up in the first. The Paladins would not score another run till the 4th inning, but Canisius keeps getting on base and gets four more runs and gets the win 6-3.

Game 2
The Paladins hope to strike back and have Emmie Buzhardt in the circle versus Canisius Liv Herrington and we are underway here at Pepsi stadium. Furman gets 3 up and 3 down in inning one and are hoping to ride that momentum into hitting. The Paladins get the scoring done early getting 2 runs off three hits and its 2-0 Furman on top heading into the second inning.

Canisius gets two runs heading into the bottom of the third to tie the game up, but Furman strikes back with a 3 run homerun by #2 Kate Stoltzfus and the Paladins retake the lead 5-2. The Paladins are able to once again blank the Golden Griffins in the 4th inning but are blanked also and we head to the 5th inning. Canisius gets two runs in the 6th to make it 5-4 but Furman in the bottom of the inning gets 2 more runs and its now 7-4 heading to the 7th inning.

Furman is able to get a split in the double header winning 7-4 and will now get ready for the Furman Tournament this weekend. Make sure to come out and support your Lady Paladins at Pepsi stadium this weekend as all games is free.
