Terriers and Paladins at the Well

Tonight’s match up with Wofford Terriers (8-8, 2-1) versus Furman Paladins (14-2, 2-1) at Bons Secours Wellness Arena is battle of SoCon Rivals. The Paladins have been red hot this year and are looking like the SoCon favorites with only two losses being from Kansas in Kansas and UNC Greensboro last week at Greensboro.

Wofford starts off hot and jumps out to a 17-9 lead with 12:14 left in the first half. Corey Tripp and Justin Bailey lead the way in the opening minutes. Wofford with just over 11 minutes left in the first half leads 20-9 at the media timeout. The Terriers are shooting 66.7% from FG range, 57% from 3-point range and has yet to shoot a FT.

Wofford has jumped out to a 29-13 lead with just over 8 minutes left in the first half of play. The Terriers are shooting 50% from FG, 41% from 3-point land and 100% from the line. Corey Tripp has led the Terriers with 9 points and an assist, as Kyler Filewich has 7 rebounds with 2 points. Furman is being led by PJay Smith and Garrett Hein with 4 points apiece. We head to the media timeout with 3:50 left in the first half of play and its Wofford 34-15 over the Paladins of Furman.

We have under a minute to go in the first half and Wofford is up 40-17 and the Terriers are showing their dominance so far tonight in the first half. Corey Tripp has had an amazing game so far with 11 points in the first half. The Paladins are able to get a last second shot up and in and we go into halftime 40-20 Terriers are in front. The stats speak volumes about this game, Tripp 11 points 4 rebounds, Justin Bailey 6 points 3 rebounds, Kyler Filewich 9 rebounds and 5 points. Furman was led by Hien, Bowser, and Smith with 4 points apiece.

The Terriers have pulled away with 2:24 left in the game to a 77-56 score as Furman has had just poor shooting all night, losing in rebounds, 3PT%, and FG% in this game as Wofford has really come out shooting well with #10 Corey Trip 16 points, 6 rebounds, and Dillion Bailey with 19 points most here in the second half with 6 rebounds. The Terriers go on to win the game 81-62, Wofford had 10 points off turnovers, 30 points in the paint, 15 second chance points, 6 points off fast breaks, and 18 points off the bench. Corey Trip ends with 16 points 6 rebounds, 2 assist, and 2-5 from three-point range.
