It has been a year of highs and lows in Charlotte. After starting out the year in a mess, the Panthers seem to have found an identity. Although this has not reflected on the scoreboard, it has shown up when watching them play. Bryce Young is still not a perfect quarterback, but he has shown signs of growth, aside from the Cowboys game where he regressed to 4 turnovers. A guy who was benched for Andy Dalton and when his number was called, he was able to rise to the occasion. He is showing the talent that made him the number 1 pick in the draft and that guy who the Panthers gave up multiple first round picks to draft. They have had heartbreaking losses to the Chiefs, Eagles and Buccaneers. All three games were games that they could’ve won. Panthers fans can feel confident that the team they are putting together is a team that can continue to grow and become a future playoff team.

Bryce Young will always be attached to CJ Stroud. People will always question what the Panthers could be if they had drafted Stroud instead. Some kids can get it as soon as they come out of college. Some kids take time to develop and must go through adversity to reach that point. I will use Baker Mayfield or Sam Darnold as an example. Both were viewed as busts for the first few years of their career. However, once they landed in the right situation, they were able to shine. Panther fans just need to be patient with Bryce. Give him to grow and find out who he is as a quarterback in the NFL. Once they surround him with the right weapons then you will see him continue to get better.

As an organization the Panthers have the right pieces. They have a coach that the players will walk through fire for and owner Dave Tepper seems to be staying out of the way. They have a quarterback who does not back down from adversity and no matter what their record is you never see them give up on games. Right now, Chuba Hubbard is beginning to thrive which will only help Bryce’s production. If the Panthers continue down this track then in the next 2 years they can be that playoff team. Just be patient fans because your time is coming and you will soon be glad that nobody gave up on Bryce or Canales. How a person handles themselves in the face of adversity will always define their character and this team has a lot of character. Those are things that nobody can teach. You are just born with them.
