WWE Raw opened this week with its usual montage of all the superstars arriving, but this week was different—Seth Rollins attacked Bronson Reed backstage before running to the ring to challenge him to a fight. Seth has been looking to get even after Bronson attacked him some time ago. Security tried to keep the two separated, but they could not come between them. Seth Rollins ended up rolling off the announce table, causing Bronson Reed to crash and burn.

The first match of the night would see New Day versus Authors of Pain in a number one contenders tournament of sorts. New Day would be in control early, utilizing quick tags, singling out a man, and cutting the ring in half—classic tag wrestling. During the match, The Miz would appear and would be having what seemed to be a very friendly chat with Karrion Kross. Authors of Pain have had plenty of great matches, but New Day certainly carried the match this night. As the match went on, R-Truth would attack The Miz and Karrion Kross. New Day would take advantage of the distraction to advance to the triple threat to determine the number one contenders. After the match, the lights would go out briefly. When they returned, Wyatt Sicks would be in the ring, and they would attack everybody.

We would get more tag team action when Damage CTRL went out to take on Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. This match wasn’t terrible, but it lacked any real intensity, Iyo once again being the standout. This was yet another match in which Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson got involved from the crowd. The match was thrown out and a fight ensued. Damage CTRL would be taken out and the remainder would end up face-to-face in the ring when the music of Rhea Ripley hit. She would come to the ring and take out everyone on her way to Liv Morgan. The two would actually go back-and-forth a little. Then, Dominik Mysterio appeared to save Liv. He did indeed save Liv, but would get a submission locked in for his troubles.

The next match would be another tag match and another match in the first round of the men’s tag tournament. This one would feature Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee versus American Made. The Luchadores would start with a fast pace and high-flying movesets. American Made would look good as well, showcasing their strength and executing some smooth moonsaults of their own. Ivy Nile and Zelina Vega would end up fighting on the outside. Vega would get the better of the exchange, which would distract American Made. Mysterio and Lee would take advantage of the situation and advance to the number one contenders’ triple-threat finals.

The main event would be for the WWE Intercontinental Championship – Jey Uso defending against Bron Breakker. Breakker would largely be in control – showing off his athleticism while showing off his heel character. Jey Uso would fight back, hitting a big spear. It was at that moment The Bloodline would show up in the crowd, apparently paying customers with tickets. Jey and Solo would be face-to-face when Breakker would run and try to spear Jey, only for Jey to dodge it, resulting in the Spear hitting Solo. Breakker and Fatu would get face-to-face, only for Jey to dive from the ring and take them both out. The ending had great reversals, Breakker getting the knees up on the splash, leading to Jey reversing the Spear Breakker tried to deliver after his reversal. All of this only for Jacob Fatu to get ahold of Jey Uso and hit a Samoan Drop on the announce table while the referee was distracted with other members of The Bloodline. Breakker would go on to hit a spear on Jey to ultimately win back the Intercontinental Championship.
