The Clemson Tigers (1-1) overall was able to pick up a huge much needed win over the App St Mountaineers (1-1) 66-20 in front of a sellout crowd at Death Valley. The Tigers had over 700 total yards of offense, and Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik set a career high in passing yards with 378 and passing touchdowns with five. He added two rushing touchdowns too.

The Tigers are now 6-0 against the Mountaineers and have won its 21st consecutive home opener, further extending its school record from 17 from 1944-60. Clemson improved to 12-0 all-time against Sun Belt teams. It was Clemson’s first game versus the Sun Belt team since 2018, when they won 38-7 against Georgia Southern.
