Greenville Drive Split Week Series with Asheville Tourist

Bryan Gonzalez chipped in six RBI for the Greenville Drive (22-36) on the strength of a pair of three-run homers, but the night belonged to Asheville Tourists (25-31) who amassed 18 hits enroute to a 15-8 victory at Fluor Field Tuesday night.

The Greenville Drive (22-37) cut the lead to one in the bottom of the ninth and put the tying run on board at second base with two outs, but a strikeout ended the comeback bid preserving the Asheville Tourists (26-31) 3-2 victory Wednesday night at Fluor Field

The Greenville Drive (23-37) rebounded from back-to-back losses as Cutter Coffey knocked his fourth homer in as many games and Allan Castro added two RBI as Greenville downed the Asheville Tourists 8-5 Thursday night at Fluor Field.

Cutter Coffey’s grand slam in the fourth inning, his fifth consecutive game with a homer, broke the Greenville Drive consecutive-game home run record enroute to a 13-4 drubbing of the Asheville Tourists on Friday at Fluor Field. Coffey recorded a grand total of seven RBI on the night.

Cutter Coffey knocked a home run in his sixth-straight game, and Jhostynxon Garcia and Miguel Ugueto added two-run homers as the Greenville Drive (25-37) defeated the Asheville Tourists (26-34), 8-4 Saturday night at Fluor Field.

Jhostynxon Garcia and Ronald Rosario each knocked a pair of doubles and combined for five RBI, but the Greenville Drive (25-38) squandered an 7-0 lead and a 10-8 lead to fall, 11-10 to the Asheville Tourists (27-34) on Sunday afternoon at Fluor Field, splitting the week’s series.
