Furman Paladins Softball comes into the final day of the Bash at the Beach with a 1-1 record after beating ACC Louisville Cardinals yet losing to Bowling Green Falcons afterwards. Today they get a chance to get that loss back by facing Bowling Green again and right after playing the host Coastal Carolina to end the tournament.

Furman gets the ball rolling with a 2-0 lead after giving the Falcons fits at the plate where a pitcher change was done quickly. heading to the bottom of the 1st Bowling Green with 2 outs does get a rare walk from Furman.

We head into the top of the fifth inning, and we still have a tied-up ballgame at 2-2 as the pitchers have been giving a better performance on both teams. Couple of innings left to show who can pull this game out, Furman gets two players on base with 1 out. Furman then loads the bases still with one out and the Furman faithful are getting louder as we go to a pitching change. Furman gets a huge hit by #18 and drives in 2 runs and Furman is now in the lead 4-2 with 1 out and runners on first and third base. Furman steals second and now both runs in scoring position. Furman leaves out of the inning with the lead, and the pressure is now on the Falcons with 3 innings left to do so.

Furman finds itself at the top of the 6th inning with a 4-3 lead needing to get some insurance runs to head into the final 6 outs of the game if it can hold on. Furman is unable to get any runs and leaves a runner on base, it’s now on to the bottom of the sixth inning. Furman Pitcher #4 shuts down the Falcons and we head to the 7th inning with Furman up one and needing to get a few more to make this game easier to end after 3 outs.
Furman is up to bat and Furman fans in attendance are pulling for the ladies to get some runs to pad the lead.
Furman gets a base runner to second with 1 out and #18 up to bat and she blast a shot to center, and we now have runners on the corners. Furman gets a run in with two outs and its 5-3 Furman. We head into the bottom of the 7th inning with Furman needing to get three out to win this game while holding the Falcons to zero runs.
Furman is 1 out away from getting a win vs the team it got beat by yesterday. Infield eras are causing Furman to struggle in games it should have won. Bases are loaded and Furman has won the game with a strike out.
