Kentucky Looks To Bounce Back At Home Against Gonzaga

The Kentucky Wildcats (16-6) will face off Saturday afternoon with the Gonzaga Bulldogs (17-6) in a crucial showdown. Gonzaga is not having the kind of season many had hoped and Kentucky is coming off back to back home losses.

Not sure of the status of DJ Wagner and Tre Mitchell coming in to this game, yet the Wildcats look to get healthy at the right time at the end of their schedule. Gonzaga with their first ever trip to Lexington is part of some tough games coming down the stretch heading into March and post-season.

Gonzaga is not an offensive explosive team, yet Kentucky is one of the most offensive efficient. It’ll be interesting to see how Gonzaga handles the transition offense the Cats bring to the table. Gonzaga is not a great 3-point shooting team either. Nolan Hickman a former Kentucky commit, and Ryan Nembhard will have to have big games if Gonzaga has a chance to pull off the road upset Saturday in Lexington. If the Zags want to make the NCAA Tournament and not miss it for the first time in decades, a win Saturday in Lexington will have to be a full team effort. Gonzaga is also without a quad-1 win as well.

The biggest key to this game is depth. Gonzaga doesn’t have a lot of guys they throw at you, Kentucky does. This should be a fun late afternoon at Rupp Arena in Lexington.
