Auburn, AL- The Jungle and the #13 Auburn Tigers welcomed the return of Al Flannigan and his new team, #22 Ole Miss Rebels, with a rude awakening. The former Auburn guard averages 16.5 points per game, only had four points at the first half. Meanwhile, the Tigers have come out hot with 18-27 shooting from the field (66.7%) and 6-10 (60%) from three-point range. All 11 Tigers, who have entered the game in the first half, have scored. This is what makes Auburn so tough, as they have the deepest bench scoring 20 of Auburn’s 46 first half points. Jaylin Williams led all scorers in the first half with 10 points. Auburn finished the half up 46-27.

The second half started off like the first, as Auburn extended its lead to 31 early on, Johni Broome, who was relatively quiet, in terms of scoring, started heating up in the second half. Broome may be the closer of this Tiger team with most of his production coming in the second half of the past few games. Broome finished with 13 points Five rebounds and two assists. Broome and Jaylin Williams lead all scorers with 13. Dylan Caldwell tied a season high, set last game at Vanderbilt, with 12 points. Auburn’s bench scored 40 of its 82 points, continuing to prove that they are a major factor in what makes this team so tough.

Auburn finished the game shooting 32-55 (58.2%) and 8-18 (44.4%) from the arc. The eight made three pointers came from eight different shooters. The Tigers also lead Ole Miss with points in the paint 42-28.

Auburn wins 82-59, improving to 16-2 overall and 5-0 in the SEC. The Tigers extend their win streak to 11 games and now sit atop the SEC. The Ole Miss Rebels drop to 15-3 overall and 2-3 in the SEC, The Rebels have lost back-to-back games after opening the season 11-0. Auburn will travel to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama in Coleman Coliseum on Wednesday night at 6:30pm ct.
