Auburn’s First Season closes with an 11-2 record and opens its Second Season 2-0. Auburn had some impressive wins and a couple of head scratching losses especially at Appalachian State. The other loss was to ranked Baylor after giving up 10 plus point lead late in the game.
Since the App St. game, Auburn has won 8 in a row behind the likes of Johni Broome, Jaylin Williams, and Aiden Holloway. The Tigers have racked up wins vs Indiana and capping the current win streak with a 32 pt win at Bud Walton Arena vs Arkansas and a hard-fought win at home vs Texas A&M.

Tonight, Auburn did not shoot the ball well, but held A&M to 22 first half points by silencing some of A&M’s best scorers. Jaylin Williams continued to be impressive scoring 22, while Auburn’s bench racked up 26pts. Johni Broome had a quiet first half with 0pts but was able to stay active and finished the game with 10.

Auburn’s bench has been key to their success this year, as there is little drop off in scoring production. The guard play has significantly improved, having one of the best Assist to Turnover ratios in the country. With the elevated guard play and defensive prowess, I expect Auburn to continue to have success and make a deep run-in postseason play.
