How do you bet on December games in the NFL?
Just see who’s favored and pick the opposite team to win outright.
Another wild week of NFL action saw 5 of the top 10 teams of our power rankings fall. Some were earthshaking contests at the top (see, Philly vs Dallas and Kansas City vs Buffalo), while others were of the upset variety (Dolphins-Titans, Lions-Bears).
Either way, the Greenville Sports Media NFL power rankings are in major need of an update.
Let’s see what changed, shall we?
1. San Francisco 49ers (Prev. 1)
The 49ers did enough to keep their #1 ranking with a solid victory over the Seahawks on Sunday.
2. Dallas Cowboys (Prev. 2)
We are officially in the “Dallas is winning the Super Bowl” part of the season.
3. Baltimore Ravens (Prev. 5)
They are really good on both sides of the ball. The Ravens will be a contender this year.
4. Philadelphia Eagles (Prev. 3)
Two weeks, two straight blowouts, two times passed by the teams that beat them in the playoff picture. These have been two extremely forgettable weeks for Philly faithful.
5. Kansas City Chiefs (Prev. 4)
Don’t let Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid fool you- the refs are far from the reason Kansas City has been sliding a bit recently.
6. Buffalo Bills (Prev. 8)
The Bills finally won a close game over a good team. They have an uphill battle to make the playoffs, but Buffalo may finally be coming over the hump.
7. Miami Dolphins (Prev. 6)
They may have the best record, but the Dolphins are not the best football team in the AFC East.
8. Jacksonville Jaguars (Prev. 7)
Two straight losses are making Jags faithful squirm in their seats.
9. Detroit Lions (Prev. 9)
It’s been a rough 4 weeks for Detroit. It only got rougher against Chicago on Sunday.
10. Cincinnati Bengals (Prev. 13)
Is Jake Browning good? Maybe, maybe not, but the results speak for themselves.
11. Denver Broncos (Prev. 11)
The Broncos ride once again. Granted, it was the depressingly mediocre Chargers, but still.
12. Houston Texans (Prev. 10)
CJ Stroud and the Texans fell back to earth in a big way on Sunday as the Jets and Zach Wilson took Houston to school. Still, the success Houston saw this season has to give fans hope for a bright future.
13. Cleveland Browns (Prev. 16)
Joe Flacco. That’s it, that’s the description.
14. Pittsburgh Steelers (Prev. 12)
The roller-coaster of emotions continues with a TNF loss to the lowly Patriots.
15. Los Angeles Rams (Prev. 18)
They may have lost, but an overtime loss to Baltimore is no thing to be ashamed of. The Rams have a legitimate spot at an NFC wildcard spot.
16. Green Bay Packers (Prev. 14)
The youngest team in the NFL showed their inexperience in a dud of a MNF loss against the Giants. Three straight wins had the Packers thinking playoffs for a moment, but it looks like hope for the future is all Green Bay got out of their November run.
17. Seattle Seahawks (Prev. 15)
It’s been a rough few weeks for Seattle.
18. Los Angeles Chargers (Prev. 17)
Justin Herbert is out for the season, and the Chargers are practically out of the playoff race. Nothing but sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows in LA right now.
19. Minnesota Vikings (Prev. 19)
They won, if you can call that stale taco of a game a win.
20. Indianapolis Colts (Prev. 20)
Jonathan Taylor can’t come back soon enough.
21. Tampa Bay (Prev. 23)
Your new NFC South leader. Don’t worry, it will probably change next week.
22. New York Jets (Prev. 25)
Just when we thought the Jets were dead, New York went out and outclassed Houston in Metlife. If the Jets should pull off the unthinkable against Miami next week, they will remain in mathematical consideration for the playoffs heading into week 16- the date Aaron Rodgers has publicly said he is targeting to return. #notscripted
23. Atlanta Falcons (Prev. 21)
Drake London had over 150 receiving yards, Kyle Pitts and Bijan Robinson had TDs, and the Falcons lost. Maybe Arthur Smith had a point. Or the Falcons just suck. That could be it too.
24. New Orleans Saints (Prev. 22)
The Saints took care of business against the Panthers, and maintained a position that is very much in striking distance in the NFC South.
25. Tennessee Titans (Prev. 26)
Monday Night Madness was in full effect as the Titans shocked the Dolphins in Miami. The Titans are well outside the wild card picture at 5-8, but crazier things have happened.
26. Las Vegas Raiders (Prev. 24)
The defense was pretty good on Sunday. Unfortunately, the defense and the offense combined for a grand total of 0 points. Hard to win football games when you don’t score.
27. Chicago Bears (Prev. 30)
Bearing down on those Detroit kneecaps on Sunday. Is Chicago good now? Probably not, but we’ll see.
28. Arizona Cardinals (Prev. 27)
Coming off a bye
29. New York Giants (Prev. 28)
The Giants pulled off a major win that didn’t help them much, but certainly did hurt the Packers.
30. New England Patriots (Prev. 29)
A quintessential Belichick primetime ugly win.
31. Carolina Panthers (Prev. 31)
The long year continues
32. Washington Commanders (Prev. 32)
Coming off a bye
