Friday night the Westside (Anderson, SC) varsity football team won Friday’s home playoff game against Greenville (SC) in overtime by a score of 42-35. In the first quarter Westside was able to be in the lead 14-7, then in the second quarter Westside took the lead 35-14 looking like they would blow out the Red Raiders. The Greenville team in the fourth quarter scored 21 points to tie the game and send the game to overtime.

Westside was able to score first with a touchdown in overtime and then, was able to get a interception in the end zone to hold on and win the Upper State Championship and head to Orangeburg for the State Championship to face an undefeated South Florence.

Cutter Woods QB for Westside has averaged 257 passing yards to game, 277 total yards a game. Marco Evans had a 82 yards a game and 8.5 points a game. Westside who hasn’t had a loss since week 1 vs. BHP has reeled off 12 straight wins since then.
