The holidays are here, and so is the best week of NFL football on the calendar, Thanksgiving week.
This year we’ll be feasting on football all weekend long with games on Thanksgiving (Thursday), Sunday, Monday, and even an inaugural Black Friday game between the Dolphins and Jets.
There’s so much to be thankful for this holiday season, but NFL football continues to give us the best gifts anyone could ask for.
So let’s sit back, grab a turkey leg, and enjoy a full weekend of football, family, and the updated Greenville Sports Media NFL Power Rankings.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (Prev. 1)
The Eagles came out on top in a thrilling Monday night rematch of last years Super Bowl, confirming their #1 spot in our power rankings.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (Prev. 2)
While the Chiefs drew the short end of the stick on Monday night, they remain a very, very good football team. Although, some wide receivers that can catch would be nice.
3. Dallas Cowboys (Prev. 3)
The Cowboys continued their rampage through the worst that the league has to offer with a win over Carolina on Sunday. With the Commanders on tap for Thanksgiving,
4. San Francisco 49ers (Prev. 4)
The 49ers won their second straight game over a middling Buccaneers squad on Sunday. With the Seahawks dropping their contest against the Rams, San Francisco is back in control of the NFC West.
5. Baltimore Ravens (Prev. 5)
The Ravens control their own destiny in the AFC, and unless mounting injuries derail them, the Ravens have every piece to be a contender.
6. Miami Dolphins (Prev. 7)
The Dolphins hung tight against a surprisingly difficult Las Vegas squad, securing the victory to keep them atop their division. The 6-5 Bills loom large behind them, signaling that this division may just come down to the final weeks to be decided.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars (Prev. 9)
The Jaguars returned to form following last weeks beatdown at the hands of Kansas City, smashing Tennessee into the turf in Jacksonville.
8. Buffalo Bills (Prev. 10)
The Bills finally looked like we have expected them to look all season in a 32-6 trouncing of the Jets in Buffalo. Now we see if they can sustain it.
9. Detroit Lions (Prev. 8)
By the skin of their teeth, the Lions are 8-2 despite trailing by two scores late in the 4th quarter of Sunday’s game against the Bears. The NFC North is firmly controlled by Detroit this season.
10. Houston Texans (Prev. 13)
Another day, another win for CJ Stroud and company. The recent success has got Houston faithful believing that the future is now.
11. Cleveland Browns (Prev. 11)
Rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson did just enough to get the Browns the win over the Steelers. Cleveland possesses one of the best overall rosters in the NFL- but can their offense show up when the Brownies need it most?
12. Cincinnati Bengals (Prev. 6)
R.I.P. 2023 Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow is the Bengals offense- without him, there will be no playoff hopes.
13. Seattle Seahawks (Prev. 14)
The Rams own them. That’s the only thing that can explain it.
14. Denver Broncos (Prev. 20)
The Broncos are riding into the fringes of playoff spot competition with 4 straight wins. Perhaps Sean Payton and Russell Wilson have finally found the secret sauce.
15. Los Angeles Chargers (Prev. 12)
Chargering never gets old, man.
16. Pittsburgh Steelers (Prev. 15)
Last week they were maybe the worst 6-3 of all time. This week, despite losing to the Browns to fall to 6-4, they are significantly improved by the subtraction of fired offensive coordinator Matt Canada from the equation.
17. Minnesota Vikings (Prev. 16)
The Josh Dobbs Experience™ had to make an emergency landing as the Vikings fell in a close one to the suddenly red hot Denver Broncos. The Vikings remain in strong contention for a wildcard spot in a weak NFC.
18. New Orleans Saints (Prev. 17)
Coming off a bye
19. Indianapolis Colts (Prev. 18)
Coming off a bye.
20. Tampa Bay (Prev. 19)
They were a little more competitive than expected against the 49ers, and remain in striking distance of the NFC South title. That’s the good news. The bad news? Tampa Bay kinda sucks.
21. Las Vegas Raiders (Prev. 21)
Despite losing their first game since the Josh McDaniels firing, the Raiders stayed in their Sunday contest with the Dolphins to the very end. While a lack of depth and overall talent may doom the Raiders in the end, this squad is playing with heart.
22. Green Bay Packers (Prev. 25)
Jordan Love put together the most complete game of his young career and the Packers beat the Chargers at home. While it did take some Chargering™ in the form of drops and turnovers from Los Angeles, it’s still a big win in Packer country.
23. Atlanta Falcons (Prev. 24)
Coming off a bye
24. New York Jets (Prev. 22)
Aaron Rodgers says he’s targeting a mid-December return, but at this point there may be nothing left to return for, playoff wise.
25. Los Angeles Rams (Prev. 26)
The Rams may just own the Seahawks.
26. Tennessee Titans (Prev. 23)
It’s going to be a long rebuild in Nashville.
27. Arizona Cardinals (Prev. 29)
Kyler couldn’t quite pull out a tight one with the Texans, but at least the Cardinals QB looks solid out there. It will be a very interesting offseason in Arizona.
28. New England Patriots (Prev. 28)
Coming off a bye.
29. Chicago Bears (Prev. 30)
The Bears had a 97 percent chance to beat the Lions on Sunday at one point in the 4th quarter, according to ESPN analytics. They lost. That’s hard to do folks.
30. Carolina Panthers (Prev. 31)
At least it was within one score at one point against Dallas. Next year, I mean, next week will be here before you know it.
31. New York Giants (Prev. 32)
Tommy Devito for MVP
32. Washington Commanders (Prev. 27)
Losing to the Giants and Tommy Devito is an impressive feat, although it’s impressive for all the wrong reasons.
