Week 11 is here, and an update to the GSM NFL Power Rankings is in order. Featuring plenty of blowouts and a scattered surprise here and there, Week 10 gave us every type of football game we could have wished for.
Which storylines are for real? Will CJ Stroud and his Texans stand the test of time? Will Josh Dobbs and the Vikings prove that it’s no flash in the pan in Minnesota?
We’ll just have to wait and find out for ourselves.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (Prev. 1)
Coming off a bye
2. Kansas City Chiefs (Prev. 2)
Coming off a bye
3. Dallas Cowboys (Prev. 4)
Dallas once again proves it can blow bad teams out, sending Tommy Devito back to his parents house in New York with a 30+ point loss. The Cowboys are good. But are they good enough?
4. San Francisco 49ers (Prev. 6)
Deebo Samuel returned and the 49ers dominated a good Jaguars team. Suffice to say, they should be fine.
5. Baltimore Ravens (Prev. 3)
A loss to Cleveland is not ideal, but an injured Deshaun Watson carried the Browns to the comeback victory. The Ravens will be fine, although a tough test awaits in the Bengals on Thursday Night Football.
6. Cincinnati Bengals (Prev. 5)
Losing to the Texans at home is unacceptable, even if the Texans may be decent (that felt odd saying). It doesn’t get any easier as they visit the Ravens for Thursday Night Football.
7. Miami Dolphins (Prev. 3)
Coming off a bye.
8. Detroit Lions (Prev. 10)
Detroit came out on top in one of the most offensively focused contests of the season to this point on Sunday. All the Lions have to do is not mess it up in a bad NFC North, and Detroit is going to the playoffs.
9. Jacksonville Jaguars (Prev. 8)
They were beaten badly by a clearly better team in the 49ers. The Jaguars remain a solid team, and should win their division (although CJ Stroud and Houston may be closing the gap)
10. Buffalo Bills (Prev. 9)
To lose a game because of 12 men on the field in the games waning moments is brutal. With offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey fired this week, the Bills will search for some consistency on both sides of the football.
11. Cleveland Browns (Prev. 12)
The Browns beat the Ravens in a tight one on Sunday. But what did it cost? Everything. Deshaun Watson broke a bone in his shoulder (while playing his best game of the season) and will miss the rest of the year. The Cleveland roster is built to win now, but can a backup quarterback take them to the promised land?
12. Los Angeles Chargers (Prev. 11)
The Chargers drew the short end of the stick in a wild shootout with Detroit. At 4-5, LA needs to get a move on if they want to snag a wildcard spot in the AFC.
13. Houston Texans (Prev. 16)
CJ Stroud has given the entire franchise and city of Houston hope.
14. Seattle Seahawks (Prev. 13)
It was closer than would have been ideal, but Seattle got the win over Washington in the end. All that matters is the W at the end of the day.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers (Prev. 14)
This may be the worst 6-3 team of all time.
16. Minnesota Vikings (Prev. 20)
The Josh Dobbs Experience™ has the Vikings thinking about a wildcard berth in the NFC. The Passtronaut is taking Minnesota to the moon.
17. New Orleans Saints (Prev. 15)
The latest victims of Josh Dobbs. At least Jameis Winston almost brought them all the way back.
18. Indianapolis Colts (Prev. 19)
With a win over the Patriots in Germany, the Colts remain just good enough to not be bad while also being just bad enough to not be good.
19. Tampa Bay (Prev. 22)
The Buccaneers played an excellent game, smashing the Titans at home on Sunday. In a division as mediocre as the NFC South, the Buccaneers are far from out of the playoff picture.
20. Denver Broncos (Prev. 23)
With their third straight win (this one over the Buffalo Bills on the road) Bronco’s Country is finally riding. I’m not ready to declare the Broncos back yet, but it’s certainly a situation to monitor.
21. Las Vegas Raiders (Prev. 26).
2-0 after Josh McDaniels was fired. This team has found new life.
22. New York Jets (Prev. 17)
Losing to the Raiders was certainly something. It begins to look as if there would be no point in Aaron Rodgers returning this season, as the Jets may be slipping out of playoff contention.
23. Tennessee Titans (Prev. 18)
A bad loss to the Buccaneers pretty much squelched any Will Levis hype that had built up.
24. Atlanta Falcons (Prev. 21)
They had the privilege of being the victims of Kyler Murray’s return game. The Falcons have not been playing pretty football as of late, and it stands to only get worse from here.
25. Green Bay Packers (Prev. 24)
Another tight loss, this time to the Steelers. The Packers seemed destined for mediocrity this year.
26. Los Angeles Rams (Prev. 25)
Coming off a bye
27. Washington Commanders (Prev. 27)
They came so close. Again.
28. New England Patriots (Prev. 29)
.Mac Jones was benched once again, and the Patriots lost an ugly one in Frankfurt, Germany. This season just keeps on getting worse for New England.
29. Arizona Cardinals (Prev. 30)
Kyler Murray is back, looked good, and the Cardinals won. While it hurt their chances of landing Caleb Williams with the #1 pick, it was a good weekend to be an Arizona fan.
30. Chicago Bears (Prev. 32)
It’s hard to be this bad.
31. Carolina Panthers (Prev. 31)
It’s even harder to be this bad.
32. New York Giants (Prev. 27)
#2 odds for the #1 pick right now. That’s about the only positive thing in Giants country at the moment
