AEW Full Gear is this Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. With so many titles on the line and so many storylines unfolding, Full Gear is sure to deliver tons of excitement and a more hardcore style then recent WWE event. Let’s break down the card as it is currently constructed (card subject to change).

First up, the ROH World Tag Team Championships are on the line as The Gunns challenge for the straps. MJF is currently one half of the tag team champions, but due to injury, it is currently unknown if he will have a partner or do it alone. Samoa Joe continues to make himself known in this storyline as well. It is hard to tell if he will be his partner, will help him win, or perhaps make him lose, but it is apparent Samoa Joe and MJF are tied together in the story-line. I see this going one of two ways; are we going to see the Gunns win the Championships with the help of Bullet Club Gold, or will Samoa Joe help MJF retain his tag titles in hopes of getting at his AEW World Championship. I see MJF either winning or losing both his matches that night. For my official prediction I will go with Samoa Joe helping MJF all night long as he narrows his sights at the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

Next let’s dig our teeth into the AEW Women’s Championship match, Hikaru Shida vs “Timeless” Toni Storm. Toni Storm has been getting a lot of screen time lately, and it hasn’t been in the ring. There has been an apparent push of Toni Storm and her new “Timeless” gimmick. While I give the edge to Shida when it comes to in-ring talent, I am predicting a new champion on this night. Toni Storm is probably the more popular wrestler – at least with the AEW crowd. It also makes sense as a payoff to this on screen push.

Six-man tag team action is next; Sting, Darby Allin, and Adam Copeland (with Ric Flair) are taking on Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne. Let’s call this the match of mixed emotion. It’s cool to see Ric Flair on tv and all, but what business does he have signing a multi-year deal with AEW? Another typical AEW move to get the big name to try and draw eyes. Sting will certainly lay it all out there and put his body on the line but there is no argument he most certainly does not still have it. On a more positive note, Adam Copeland does appear to be just as popular with the AEW crowd as he did in AEW, and Christian Cage is on the (in my opinion) best heel run of his entire career. He may not still be doing as many hardcore spots or high spots but you can not deny his roll or his heat. Nick Wayne is the only must-see teenage wrestler I have ever seen or heard of. While I don’t foresee the most high paced action, I think all of these guys are going to give it their all and give us a stiff match with tons of danger. For those that do like a good pace, I believe Darby and Nick will have plenty of time to show off as the quickest guys in this match. For the prediction I’m going with the baby-face team. I can not see AEW signing Adam Copeland and Ric Flair to have them lose in this spot.

The AEW International Championship is on the line as Orange Cassidy will defend it against Jon Moxley. On the episode of Dynamite preceding Full Gear, Jon Moxley no-sold Orange Cassidy’s Orange Punch as Blackpool Combat Club got the victory in the tag team match. The International Championship picture has felt a little stale lately and with AEW booking Mox to look good on-screen with Orange Cassidy recently, I am going to predict another new champion in Jon Moxley.

Maybe we'll get a proper Moxley International title run this time 🙏 #AEW pic.twitter.com/lNlw7nWPNI

While I never suggest you swerve while you drive, I do suggest you make it a point to see Adam Page vs Swerve Strickland this weekend. Swerve Strickland picked up the surprise victory at WrestleDream over Hangman and they are set to run it back at Full Gear. This had led to a sudden surge in Swerve’s popularity. He has always had the toughness, move-set, charisma, and the entire package, so it’s nice to see him getting some big picture spots. I think this will be the match of the night. While I personally prefer Swerve and give him the edge when it comes to pure in-ring talent, Adam Page can hold his own against anybody and will surely deliver a hard hitting match. I predict Adam Page to win this match – which sets up the trilogy match in the future.

The next match has some very interesting stipulations as The Golden Jets (Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho) take on The Young Bucks. If The Golden Jets win they get The Young Bucks’ AEW World Tag Team Championship opportunity but if The Young Bucks win, The Golden Jets must disband. While this match may not be the most technical wrestling match, I would expect to see tons of high-paced action, tons of high-danger spots, reverals, and false finishes. The Young Bucks seemed to essentially ask Kenny Omega to get The Elite back together and go on a heel run. Omega turned this down for now but that is how I see the end of this going, Kenny Omega turning on Chris Jerico at the very end to join the victorious team of The Young Bucks.

Continuing on to the triple-threat match for the AEW TBS Championship where Kris Statlander will defend against Julia Hart and Skye Blue. This has the potential to be the low-light of the PPV. They have been attempting to push Julia Hart as a member of the House of Black, but it has not worked. She has yet to find her way in the new gimmick and still looks soft in the ring. Skye Blue was on a roll for a while – but now we are supposed to buy into a random heel turn while she is still wearing Scooby Doo gear. While I personally believe Kris Statlander is the most deserving, I think they will continue attempting to make something out of Julia Hart, and put the strap on her.

The AEW World Tag Team Championship is on the line in a four-way match. Ricky Starks and Big Bill defend against La Facción Ingobernable (Rush and Dralístico), FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) and Kings of The Black Throne (Malakai Black and Brody King). I personally have to give it up to AEW for having the best tag team division of any promotion. This match will have something for most fan types and the best of all styles, another contender for match of the night. For an official prediction I am going FTR regaining the AEW Tag Titles. FTR is probably the biggest draw of the group, despite my personal preference to Kings of The Black Throne.

Finally we get to the main event, MJF defending his AEW World Heavyweight Championship against Jay White. Jay White has had a great run since signing with AEW, leading Bullet Club Gold to big story-lines and various title opportunities. He has elevated talent around him as well in The Gunns. Jay White has been parading around with the stolen championship belt and they have been booking MJF to look at his most vulnerable since joining AEW. While I would not mind Bullet Club Gold winning a bunch of titles and going on a run, I think Samoa Joe plays into this match in some way, helping MJF retain in hopes of getting one step closer to that title.
