AEW Invades Bons Secure Arena & Fans Love It

This past Saturday AEW Wrestling strolled into the Bons Secure Arena for the first time with AEW Collision and even though another huge wrestling company was doing a PPV, the fans showed up and showed out.

The night started out with the Ring of Honor taping with two great matches and then a bonus match with Powerhouse Hobbs who the fans really got behind. Lots of companies love to do warm up matches to get the crowd into the mood before the meat of the card is shown. Then the introductions of the play-by-play guys was done, along with a familiar face AEW fans have missed was Thunder Rosa who was doing play by play on the Spanish announce team stage.

AEW Owner Tony Khan then came out and told the fans it was time to get excited as we were 25 seconds away and the crowd exploded into cheers, boos, and other chants as the pyro went off and the show began. Stars like Christian Cage, Samoa Joe, FTR, Bullet Club Gold, Kris Statlander House of Black, Ricky Starks, and CM Punk gave the crowd a awesome show and then was the return of a legend. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat who had been a huge star back in the NWA days and had wrestled back when it was the Bi-Lo Center, and the old historic Greenville Memorial Auditorium was a special enforcer ref in the main event.

The night ended with FTR coming out to celebrate with CM Punk and then to call out of the crowd the former Midnight Express member Dennis Condrey and give thanks for all he had done for the business. I felt Greenville and the Bons Secure arena did a great job hosting a event and coming out to support AEW in hopes it would return back soon. Also, a huge thanks to AEW for the hospitality they gave me and other media members in the crowd. Just a awesome night of wrestling fun for all.
