SC FBU Camp Draws Huge Turnout, Proves SC has Talent

This past Saturday Middle School Football players from all over the state came together at Summit Parkway Middle school to get instruction from some of the best coaches all over the south in the first ever SC FBU Camp. Well over 110+ middle school players showed up giving their best to show the coaches and to learn the art of being a great player as they grow to the next stage of their career.

The camp had a legend of the recruiting scene keeping them on step, listening, and ready to get the job done in Coach Lo out of Orlando, Florida who drove out of Atlanta with only a hour sleep when his flight was cancelled. This camp was important to him and the other great coaches who volunteered their time and experience to get South Carolina its first FBU camp.

The players broke up into groups of QBs, RBs, LBs, WR/DBs, and Lineman as they did shuttle, 40 dash, and a host of other drills before 1 on 1 and 7 on 7 drills before awards was passed out to the ones who stood out above the rest and earned a right to compete in the Finals.

The players, families and coaches all fought through the weather that was fairly cool, but rain made the field reckless to play on which is a great thing for football. Many players were glad that the sun was not out making it much easier to do all the drills the coaches wanted. The parents also was learning, asking coaches what they need to do, what do they need to get done for their sons.

The event ended with players getting awarded the best of the best and being a part of the very first FBU held in South Carolina.
