4th of July Battle Between Drive & Braves

The Greenville Drive (41-34) come into tonight after a Wed-Mon series with Asheville to face the Rome Braves (34-41) hoping to keep with its series wins record.

The Drive get on the board first when a Double by Paulino is then hit in by Bonaci to make it 1-0 with no outs in the first inning. With the bases loaded and no outs the Drive get two more scores and its now 3-0 with two outs and runner on third. The inning ends with the Drive getting three runs and leading 3-0 heading into the second.
Back-to-back doubles to start the fireworks today! Brainer Bonaci nearly clears the wall to score Paulino.

The Drive in the bottom of the second get another run when Blaze Jordan hits in Paulino and makes the game 4-0 heading into the third inning. A packed crowd has come out to see both of these great clubs play and celebrate a wonderful Independence Day.

In the top of the fourth the Braves are able to get a run after getting the bases loaded and go to the bottom of the fourth 4-1 as the Drive still hold the lead. (Game Postponed Due to Weather and will be finished Wed starting at 5pm, second game starting at 7pm)
The game starts at 5:05pm to finish out July 4th’s game that was suspended and the Drive get to finish their 4th inning and they starts off with a hit by Decker who is knocked and its now 5-1 with a runner on first and two outs.The game heads to the top of the 5th inning and the Rome Braves are able to knock in a run and its now 5-2 Drive, but next batter up knocks a ball out of the ballpark and its now 5-4 Drive still in the lead, and the Drive barely make out of the inning with the lead.

In the top of the 8th inning the Rome braves get a two run homerun and its now 6-5 Braves with no outs. The Braves get two more runs in the 8th making the score now 8-5 as the Drive pitchers are serving up hits everywhere. Going into the bottom of the nineth the Drive are behind 8-5 as the Rome Braves scored 4 in the 8th inning to take the lead. So the Drive fall to the Rome Braves in the first of two games.
