Drive Look to Keep Winning Ways Versus Crawdads

The Greenville Drive (26-22) come into tonight’s game versus the Hickory Crawdads (17-27) after a strong pitching performance by Isaac Coffey and hitting by Tyler Miller ready to get on another winning streak. What will be a close to sellout crowd ready for baseball, hot dogs, and fireworks await the first pitch to get this game on the way. (Game Thread)

The Drive start off the game with a walk off homerun by Max Ferguson over the deep center field fence and we are 1-0 Greenville. The runs keep coming as Eduardo Lopez belt a single into right field scoring Blaze Jordan and its 2-0 Drive still in the first with two on base. Alex Erro gets a single driving in another run and the Drive is up 3-0. After the Crawdads change out pitchers, Diaz belts one to right field for a single and scores another run and the Drive are up 5-0 still in the first with runners on 1st and 2nd base and two outs. The inning ends with the Greenville getting 11 men up before getting out the inning.

The Drive hit paydirt again when Lopez hits in Jordan for another score and its 6-0 Drive with two outs and the second inning. Then former Clemson Tiger Kier Meredith nails a double down the right field line scoring a run and its now 7-0 Drive in a hit fest tonight.

The Drive are on fire tonight as Blaze Jordan hits a 2-run blast and its 9-0, but hold the next batter up Tyler Miller belts one out over the right field fence its now 10-0 Drive over the Crawdads in just the 3rd inning. The Crawdads start to crawl back in the game in the 4th getting 3 runs in with one out and are threatening to get back in this game. The Drive score another run in the 4th and its 11-3 but before the inning is over Brainer Bonaci running around first falls down is taken out of the game with what looks like a hamstring injury, no details as we speak.

The Drive once again with two outs in the fifth start a run fest and get 2 more runs and its now 13-3 heading into the 6th inning. The game is now heading into the seventh still 13-3 with the Drive leading and now with a new pitcher #23 Maceo Campbell. The Crawdads start teeing off on Campbell to the tune of 2 runs with no outs and runners on the corners. The Crawdads get one more run due to a wild pitch and now it’s a 13-6 ball game as the Crawdads will not give up.
