Sunday May 21st was a beautiful day for football at Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, TN. Prep Redzone and Prep Redzone Next held their showcase recruiting camp called Prep RedzoneTN. It was a perfect 80 degree day and over 210 up and coming classes of 2023-2028 eager young men came out to participate in the camp. They even had walk-ins welcome on the day of the camp. Participants from Mississippi, Alabama, and Kentucky joined the home state Tennessee families for instruction, individual drills, and one on one training from college and high school coaches.

The day began at 11:00 AM with the Prep Redzone Next event with the classes of 2027 and 2028. Approximately 70 impressive kids showed up for L-drills, 40 yd dashes, individual instructions and one on one competition. 17 players were selected as Top Performers for the camp. Those are: Ace Eschenburg, Dante Seals, Keegan Bowman, Will Delong, Andre Adams, Avery Thompson, Fisher Brinegar, Fletcher Fields, Jack Evitts, Nolan Flores, Chance Adams, Cole Scraggs, Thomas Manu, Brayton Feister, Brydon Feister, Lincoln Gleason, and Malik Howard. Many of this Next group are gonna be players colleges are gonna want to keep a close eye on as they looked every bit the part of future collegiate players.

Then the current high school players took the field, as the classes of 2023-2026 looked to compete and gain exposure for college attention. The day started out in timed individual drills with the three cone, L-drill, broad jump and the 40 yard dash. Yasir Muhammad a 2025 WR/DB from Memphis Central, Jahmani Washington a 2025 LB from Grenada, MS, Troy Griffin a 2023 QB from Gentry, MS, Kaden Mays a 2024 WR from Hazel Green, AL, and Jaylon Campbell a 2023 WR from Gentry, MS were among the early standouts for me. They looked the part and jumped out with their timed drills.

From there the position groups started with individual instruction from college and high school coaches from colleges such as Bethel University, Cumberland University, and Georgetown College in KY. These campers get top notch skills, techniques, and training to take with them and to put into their games. The day closes out with an exciting one on one competition with WR/DB, RB/LB, OL/DL. At the end of the camp position coaches select an MVP from each position group to be the top overall performer from their group. The MVP’s of the 2023 Prep RedzoneTN were as follows:
