The Greenville Drive fresh off a win last night 7-5 over the Asheville Tourist will be hoping for a winning streak to start to get the season on the right path. We will be doing a inning by inning thread all through the game giving you the highlights of the game.

1st Inning:
The Tourist start off with a single with the first batter, the send batter up gets a single also and the Tourist have runners at second and first with no outs. The next batter up gets a walk and the bases are loaded with no outs. Strike out for the drive and its one out now bases still loaded, next batter for the Tourist and he hits up the side, and is thrown out at 1st, but a runner score and its 1-0 Asheville Tourist with two outs now top of the first. Strike out and we are headed to the bottom of the first!
The Drive are now up and its Meidroth settling in to start the inning and he gets a hit to second but the Tourist error and its a player at first for the Drive. Mayer up to the plate, he strikes out looking, and we head to Jordan at the plate with one out man on first. Jordan gets walked and Greenville has runners at 2nd and 1st. Hickey is up to the plate now and he walks making the bases loaded with only one out, now its up to Ugueto is up he moves out of the way for a wild pitch, and the Drive score and the runners move to second and third, Ugueto sets in and he walks so its bases loaded again for Greenville. Ferguson is up now, he hits into a double play and the Drive tie the game going into the second inning 1-1.

2nd Inning:
The tourist start off with a strike out at the plate, their next batter hits a out in shallow left field, so two quick outs for the Drive. The next batter for Asheville grounds out to first, and we head to the bottom of the 2nd tied 1-1. The Drive send Jiminez to the plate and he hits a Homerun to the train and its 2-1 Greenville in the lead. Next batter Decker is hit by a pitch, and its a runner at 1st. The next batter Erro hits a deep ball into center but its caught for out one, with a runner at second for the drive. Meidroth up next hits a deep double to center and a run scores its 3-1 Greenville. Mayer gets a single into right field and we have a meeting at the mound and a new pitcher is called. The next batter Hickey comes up after another run is scored and Greenville leads 4-1 with 1 out. The next better gets walked then Ugueto gets out, and now its Ferguson up with two outs and the score 5-1 after a wild pitch. This game has had many wild pitches, and the pitching coaches have to be going nuts. With another walk the bases are loaded for Greenville as we have batted around now. Jimenez is up and he hits out and the inning is finally over with Greenville leading 5-1.

3rd Inning:
The tourist will need to get some runs back in this inning as the Drive look to make quick work of this lineup again. The first hitter hits a single, the next batter hits him to third but gets thrown out at second. The following batter gets struck out and we have two quick outs and the Drive look to close out this inning and they do with a single down the first base side. Its the bottom of the 3rd. The Drive’s first hitter Decker gets thrown out at first, and Greenville sends up Erro and he gets thrown out at first also and the Drive are down to the last out of the third. Meidroth gets walked and now its Mayer up to hit, he backs up and we have a steal at second, and Mayer strikes out and that is the end of the third.

4th Inning:
The tourist are up as we are still 5-1 and the first batter is out at first and the next batter gets a error by the SS as he misses the ball and its a runner at 1st. the next batter hits a grounder to the SS and he thrown out at first and its two outs in the 4th and he strikes out the last batter and we are into the bottom of the 4th with Greenville leading 5-1. They bring Jordan up to the plate and he grounds out to first and the first out of the inning and now Hickey is up to the plate. Hickey strikes out and we bring Ugueto to the plate, he strikes out and we are headed to the 5th inning.

5th Inning:
The Tourist send up the first batter and he hits a shot to right field and its a out so we have our next batter up and he hits one out of the ballpark and its 5-2 Asheville. The next batter up with one out gets to the plate and he hits to left field and its two outs for the Drive and the Tourist send up and its blasted to Center and he is out. The Drive get a hit by Ferguson and then Jimenez gets thrown out at first. Ferguson steals third as we have a out in the bottom of the fifth. Decker is up to bat, and he strikes looking and now Erro is up to try and bring Ferguson in, he steps in and he strikes out and the inning is over its 5-2.
6th Inning
The Tourist are up to bat send a blast to right field and the ball is caught and its out one. The next batter hits a grounder to second and its two outs in the top of the 6th inning. The batter hits it to the pitcher and its three up and three down for the Tourist. The Drive head into the bottom of the 6th, Meidroth heads to the plate and he gets hit with a pitch, and the Drive send up Mayer to hit and Meidroth heads to first. Mayer settles in and strikes out and its going to be Jordan up to hit with a runner at first and one out. Jordan gets ready and he strikes out, next up with the chance to drive in a run is Hickey. Hickey gets ready and he hits a bloop down the first base side and he is safe. Its now runners at first and second with Ugueto at the plate. He settles in and hits a ball to second and its a out and the inning is over as we head to the 7th.

7th Inning
The Tourist head into the top of the 7th and quickly are out with their first and second batter. The third batter is up and he is thrown out and its a quick inning. The Drive are up and Ferguson and he hits a solid strike past the second baseman and the Drive have a runner on first with no outs. Jimenez is up and he as Ferguson steals second, and Jimenez settles in to hit and strikes out and its one out with Decker stepping up to the plate, and he strikes out, its up to Erro and he hits one towards second and is thrown out at first. we head to the 8th Inning with the Drive leading 5-2.

8th Inning
The Tourist go into the 8th down 5-2 and the first batter strikes out and now we are 1 out and next batter is up and he strikes out, now its two up and two down, the Drive are one out away from heading to the bottom of the 8th. Greenville Drive will look to add to the lead and Meidroth heads to the plate as we go to the top of the order. Meidroth is called out on strikes, next up is Mayer and he strikes out also as the Drive are down to their last out. Jordan walks and Hickey is up to hit and we have a call to the bullpen as Asheville is bringing in Cole McDonald. The Drive have two outs in the bottom of the 8th and up is Hickey. Hickey steps in and blazes a liner up the middle and runners are on the corner with two outs. Ugueto hits a blast to center but is thrown out, and we head to the 9th Inning.
9th Inning
The first out is quickly made and Asheville is down to two outs. and the second hitter gets thrown out at first and its down to the last out as the fans cheer on the pitcher “One More Strike” and the pitch is in and the hitter hits a ball to 3rd, but is safe at first so now a runner on first with two outs, the next batter is up and he we get the strike out the game is over 5-2.
