In the second quarter Eniya Russell scored 9 of her 11 points in leading the Cats to a halftime advantage. Maddie Scherr added five of her seven total points in the second as Kentucky scratched out a 36-34 halftime lead. Getting back to winning basketball at home is extremely important for Coach Elzy and her Cats.

Being down six at the start of the forth quarter, the Wildcats clawed to within two with five minutes to go (69-67). A huge late rebound from Ajae Petty led to Russell going 1-2 from the free throw line to take a 77-73 lead with 34 seconds left. The Gators scored a quick bucket to cut it to two. But Russell responded with two big free throws for the Cats to put them back up four. After the Gators missed on their next trip, Brooklynn Miles hit one of two from the line.
